Final Post

1)I responded to the book by kinda getting mad because it left us hanging without letting us know about the dad. I didn't think it was satisfying because Hideyo just came over for Korea and finally met up with Yoko and Ko. The conflict of Hideyo being away from their family was resolved, also the problem of how they were going to survive with their mother dead and no cash. Because she wanted to let us know how dramatic it was to finally meet up with her brother again.

2)I think that the way the Japanese live by and their standards really are mellow and through out the story.They observe it by doing the traditional way that the Japanese by carrying their bags on their head so it looks like they are Japanese. I think they do this to teach Yoko how to act like a young woman when she becomes an adult because then she will be mellow and she will have it easy because she learned how to live on her own at a young age.My family doesn't really have rituals but if we got into a situation like this than I am sure that we all would pray every night.

3) The character that I admire the most int his story is Ko because no matter through out the whole story she kept a good attitude through out the whole story. She helped out the whole family no matter what happened. She also helped out when the hospital got attacked and she helped out the injured victims. She wanted the best for Yoko and their family.No matter what happened she helped out the whole family and she helped out whoever she met that got in trouble

4) I learned what days that the united states drop the atomic bomb which was on august 6 and 11 of 1945 on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. I also learned about the Korean Communist Army. I learned about some geographical sites like Nanam and Seoul.

5)I learned that you shouldn't take anything for granite because if you do karma will come back and bite you in the butt so don't take advantage of anything.Also you should make the time with your loved ones fun and try not to fight with them because when they are gone you will regret it

1)I think yoko wants to help Mr. Nadio because he is a friend of yokos and he helped her out in her time of need. He helped her by giving her all of the supplies and paper. They both are picked on by other people because they way they act

2)I think that when she found out that ko's idea was to get money so they could have a new years feast. It was a turning point for her because she realized that it might be better than it seems like. Her attitude changed so that she is happy and trying to make things better than it already is.

3)Why do you think that their mother had one thousand yen in her seceret pocket.

My Answer:I think that she hade a feeling that something bad was going to happen on their escape for nanam so she brought money in case she died so that Ko and Yoko could survive with that money

A-They needed to leave the train station in Pusan because it just got way to outta control because the Koreans in the army where going crazy and trying to rape alot of the women at the train station.

B-I think that the decision to leave hydieo behind was a good one because if they stayed any longer then they probably would have got raped. Also Hydieo is very strong and I think he is going to survive and find them in japan.

1) I think that hideio is very strong because he watched one of his friends die right in front of him and he didn't start to cry or get very upset with it. Also he shows courage by not giving up when he found out that his family had left him to go to Soeul.

2) I think I would bring food like lucky charms and I would jeans.Also I would bring my favorites volcom shirts and my skateboard. I would make sure taht my whole family made it out before I left.

3) I find that the didn't check in the stall for those three boys because that would of been the first place I would have looked in the bathroom. Also when Yasuo took a machine gun and started firing at the japanesse with a machine gun.

1) I think that Yoko is very strong and also hard headed because she wants almost everything to go her way.You can tell she is hard headed because when her mom said she couldn't eat some dried fish she started to moan and groan. Also she is very strong because she went through all of the bloodiness of war and still helped out all of the patients.

2)They are good friends and sisters.They fight but almost all siblings fight.She calls her Honorable sister because she is so brave and she did a lot of stuff to help out the patients on the train.

3)I think they handled the situation very good because they helped them out even though the didn't have to.They also shared their blankets and Yoko shared her blanket with the preganet mother.Their character is very strong because it takes a strong person to help out others way more than you even when you are starving.

I can relate to Ruben because i also have a little brother and it is some times hard to get along with him but i can survive with him.

One of the characters named Micheal Arroyo reminds me of a kid on my baseball team who can throw really fast.Something happened to where micheal can't play baseball anymore because his birth certificate is in his native Cuba.A part in the book that upsets me is when a kid on the other team gets mad because micheal struck him out,that just made me mad because you have to be a good sport about what you are doing.Also you shouldn't get mad that he struck you out but you should think that next time you are gonna get a big hit off of him.

Also the purpose was to learn about a person in our family that experienced or lived during a historical event. the person I did my project on was my dad who experienced the gulf war. We also had to bring in 4 tools about the person we interviewed or anything like newspapers,books,Awards,Pictures or media from the time that the person experienced .You had to write captions for every picture that you brought. To learn form a witness we had to interview a person who experienced a historical event.

I learned A lot of things about my dad like when he got back how he had a foul mouth. Also I learned about the USS Independence and how my dad fixed up the airplanes. 1)I think that mr.Ross is realizing that he is kinda turnig into a dictator.He is turning into hitler the thing that basiclly swore to stop by becoming a history teacher to stop it from happening.

2) The quote i choose was when robert aksed if he could be Mr. Ross's body guard because that shows that he is starting to become a dictator and they will do almost anything for him.

1)The way he is letting the experiment get out of hand is he made memberships cards for the kids in the wave so that is basically like segregation because they are apart of the wave.Second Their are even kids cutting class to sit in on his class is really bad because they are ditching and he knows it and he is just letting go by.

1.The way it spreaded is that when david said sit in the proper postion to his girlfriend and then she did so mi think all the kids are gonna start doing it.

1.I think the saddest part in Betty Ann was when she writes a great story ,but when it comes to the eating watermelon part and everybody was laughing and teasing her was messed up.

7th grade post

1.My favorite line is when he trys to speak french.It moved me beacuse it was so funny.

2.I liked the line he is going to like 7th grade beacuse I can relate so good.I reminded me of my first day of 6th grade.It reminds me of 6th grade because i didn't know what to expect.

1.The sentence that stood out is when it said"How do any of us know" because it was very descriptive and it reminded me of when i was in a crash.

2.Hypnosis is bad because it will give them the mentally crash but it will be different when you get in a crash in real life.Also they might just sit there like he did in the story.Besides they didn't even have then touching anything.

My favorite book from 6Th grade was small steps.It is about a kid named Armpit who was in holes,So he lives in Austin,Texas.He has a neighbor named Ginny who is basically his best friend,Ginny has epilepsy.So X-ray who armpit met at camp green lake comes up with a get rich quick scheme.Read small steps to find out if the scheme works.
