My name is scout I am from a town called Maycomb. I have a older brother who is 12 years old his name is jem.He is my good friend and we do alot together. My dad's name is Atticus. As I said me and my sister do everything together including playing outside when we heard a noise at first we thought it was a dog but it was really just a boy named Dill. He said that he is staying for the entire summer with his aunt Stephanie Crawford . When we were talking to him when he gazed at the Radley’s house. We told him that a terrible man lived there his name was Boo Radley. Nobody went to his house and when I say nobody I mean nobody. Boo Radley will kill you if you go to his house even if you just touch it your gone. When I told Dill that he dared me to go and get Boo Radley to come out of his house I was scared. So I told him I would touch the house, I was still scared but I had to do it.

TKAM Post #3 Chapters 8 – 9 Perspective – em
Atticus woke us up in the middle of the night for a no apparent reason and he wouldn't tell us why. When we walked outside we soon figured out what was going on. Miss Maudie's house caught on fire and all the men in town were trying to help her get all of her stuff out of her house. While atticus went to help them, Scout and I observed this obscure seen from boo radley's house. We saw every man in town there of course except boo radley. We sat there for a long amount of time when it started to get really cold. We fell asleep and when we woke up we had a blanket around both of us. We thought that atticus had come and put it on us but he said he didn't do it. We didn't believe him and then we realized that boo radley had done it because we were right infront of his house. Atticus said everybody in maycomb was out that night.

TKAM Post #5 Chapters 12 – 14 Perspective – Atticus
My Sister Alexandra came over to our house to stay for a little while because she said that I needed to teach jem and scout how to act rite. I don't think the children were to happy about her staying with us for a while. After a little while she came, the trail of tom Robinson started. Their was a lot of rumors going around town about tom was already guilty and his story didn't match up. We met up with reverend Sykes and we followed him up to the second floor of the court house. We sat there for a while and we listened to Mr. Heck Tate's testimony. His testimony sounded pretty legit to me. This case is really confusing.

TKAM Post #4 Chapters 10 – 12 Perspective – Calpurnia
Mr. Atticus was out of town this weekend and I came up with the idea of the kids coming to church with me. I had to get them looking their best so that people will know I take care of my children. When we got there, stupid lula comes over and starts running her mouth about how I cant bring the children to this church.I tell her that she is crazy and that their daddy is Mr. Finch. We walked in and took a seat. Then Mr. Sykes came out and started off our church service with some announcements. One of the announcements stated that we need to raise money for Helen Robinson. She was the wife of tom Robinson, the man that Mr. Finch is defending. We all walked up and put our money in the can but by the end we didn't have enough to help her. Mr. Sykes convinced everybody to pitch in more and ten minutes later we had enough and church was over. After scout asked me if she could come over sometime. I said maybe. Scout is a very "different" young girl.

TKAM Journal #2 - Chapters 4-7 - Perspective: Scout
This school year went by way to slow. All the other kids take their time learning stuff that is pretty simple to me. One day when i was walking back home from school, I saw a little tin foil looking thing sticking out of the radley's oak tree. It turns out that they were two pieces of chewing gum. Then on the last day of school I went back to the radley oak tree and found two Indian headed pennies . When summer finally came, Jem, Dill, and I started up our games. We rolled each other in tires and when it was my turn, I rolled right in front of the radley place. After that our games seemed to be more based on the radleys. On day father caught us and asked jem did our games involve the radleys and jem lied to him.We invited Boo to Ice Cream but dad caught us and said not to torment that man.On the last day that dill was here we peeped through a hole that looked into the radley place and saw a figure with a hat. We all ran and heard shotgun shots behind us.We ran to the school yard but jem's pants got stuck. We walked back through town and we saw dad. He asked us were jem's pants were. Stupid Dill said that he won them in a game of strip poker. After school starts, jem found his pants fixed and hanging the fence. Then we kept finding stuff inside the tree knothole.Until one day it was filled with cement. We asked nathan radley but he said the tree was dying.

Immigrant Project Reflection
My literature circle book was What is the What. This was a good book because the way it was written kept your interest throughout the whole book instead of just being good at the beginning of the book. I was okay with the book was really long so sometimes I would fall asleep reading my book. I learned a lot of things about African culture during this book like how their kids had to work at a really young age so they can help their parents afford a house and food for them. At the beginning of the book it was very weird because these people were robbing him but he mad up random names for them because he didn't know who they were.I liked blogging better because when I try to write I always get writers block and forget what I was just about to say.
For my painting, I chose to do a cover recreation of the original cover. I put Africa in the middle surrounded by four symbols from the book. It is similar to a crest. The background are colored more darker colors because it shows his hardships in Africa and America.
My interviews went well. Sometimes though I couldn't understand what she was saying because she still has her accent from Guyana. The first interview helped me out with all the other interviews because after that interview it was easier to make up questions. In the interviews i felt so personal with her because she told me that she only visits Guyana if one of her family members die. That is pretty harsh circumstances to be going back to were you were born and raised.

What is the What # 6
Quote:"I need to learn some sports"
Significance:This quote shows how they really were trying to adapt to American culture but it wasn't exactly the easiest thing for them. Valentino really is trying to fit in with the other Americans but it is hard for him because his old culture.
Question:What sport would you first learn if you came to America
Quote:"How are you back there, red army"
Significance:This quote talks about how Valentino is being considered apart of the rebel army because he did only a little bit of things with them.
Question:Would You want to be considered an army person?

What is the what #4
Quote:
"I would try to make fun of myself.Could I act as if I had been kidding? Would they believe that for a moment?"
Response:
This quote shows how he always thinks about what might happen from his actions. He was invited to eat with "the cool kids" But he turned them down and now he is trying to go and sit down with them but he is trying to figure out how he can do this with out looking like a total fool.
Question:
Do you think about the consequences of your actions before you do it?
Quote:
"We Will struggle to liberate the land of Sudan. We will! With the AK-47, the battalion of the red army will come. We Will"
Response:
I chose this quote because it shows how these boys spirit wouldn't be crushed. They wanted their people to be freed and they were singing a song that describes every thing that they will do.
Question:
Have you ever made a chat over something important to you?

What is the what #3
Quote:
"What happened to him" William K. asked. "Go away, mumbled the solider". William persisted."Was he shot".
Response:
I chose this quote because it shows how they had many casualties in this war and the boys were curious about what the soldiers were doing. The solider guy was pretty calm with his answer back to William so he should consider himself lucky because maybe he could have got made and tried to shoot William.
Question:
Would you push to find out what happened to the solider?
Quote:
"So were you part of the genocide? Victims of that?"
Response:
I chose this quote because it shows he people can be ignorant sometimes. She asked them if they were in the genocide just because they are from Africa. It is an okay question but sometimes you need to be careful with what kind things you should say to somebody, because what if he lost somebody in his family to the genocide. He would be really sad.
Question:
Have you ever asked somebody a question that made them get mad?

What is the What post 2
Quote
"—You didn't tell us the answer: What is the What? My father shrugged.
—We don't know. No one knows."
p104
Significance:
The significance of this quotes is that it that it shows how ignorant these kids were to the events that were happening in their home land. Their father knows that they will eventually figure out "what is the what"
Question:
Do you think you know "what is the what"?
Quote:
"I suppose there is little in the way of violence that I have not seen in Sudan, in Kenya. I spent years in a refugee camp in Ethiopia, and there I watched two young boys, perhaps twelve years old, fighting so viciously over rations that one kicked the other to death."
108
Significance:
This shows people how difficult these people had it.They killed each other over food. I think that this can show people that they should appreciate the things that they have, because they could get killed over food.
Question:
Would you ever try to kill somebody for food?

What is the what - post 1
Quote:
"Man, why you even here? You coming here to wear your suits and act like you're all educated? didn't you know what you were going to get "got" here"
Page 19
Significance:
The significance of this quote shows how bad people think of his people coming over to America. they think that they are just here to take their jobs and look better than they are.
Question:
What would you say to somebody who said that to you?
Quote:
"We sat spine to spine so we could warn each other of predators"
Significance:
This shows you how dangerous it was for these boys to be walking across Africa. They had to sit back to back just so they could survive the night, but you might die the next day.
Question:
How would you react if you were in this position?

From Haven to Home and Children of Immigrants
Part 1.
Part 2.
A photo that struck me was a picture of 3 immigrant boys playing basketball. I chose this because it shows how fast some people can pick up American culture as soon as they get here.
Quote- Tolerance means being accepting and helpful to others. It’s about having your opinions and listening to those of others. Tolerance is about justice. Tolerance is about being a good American in a free country.
~Tobi Abegunde, Nigeria
I chose this quote because if everybody in America was tolerant of each other, then we would all live peacefully

Immigrant Reflection
An immigrant is a person who moves to a different country seeking better life for them or their family?Their might be war in their country or they might live in a poor place or they might seek a better future and think were they are going is better.
We have more money and more jobs than other countries have. Also we are a lot cleaner than
We have a lot of Mexican people who live in southern California and they brought over some of their culture. This taught us different was to do things. My life has changed a lot because I meet immigrants everyday. Some of my best friends are immigrants and if I didn't know them, I think my life would be different.

Chapter 13
Chapter 13
Finally over
Ralph was in the boat with the captain going back to the ship. “How big was that fire out there”. “It was very big, how did you guys get it started” said the captain. “One of the barmy boys on the island started it and tried to kill me”.
“Can you point him out boy” replied the captain. “No I can't find him on this boat”. “ Did he want to stay behind on the island”. “I think he did because he was turning very savage and he kill two of the boys here”.
As Ralph and The Captain were talking, samneric started to make very weird nosies and then they said that we left Percival and jack on the island. “What did that boy say” exclaimed the captain. “That boy is barmy to the maximum”. “I think all you boys are a little barmy after that experience”.
Ralph was getting very mad at the captain for calling him barmy. Ralph was thinking about all of his memories on the island. “I remember when me and piggy first met each other. “Also when we found the conch and first called an assembly on the island”. “That is when we first met the savage himself, Jack Merridew. As he said his name, everybody got nervous about what happened to jack. “Who is this Jack Merridew, and what is the big deal with him” said the captain . Ralph thought about piggy and then about Simon. He didn't know how to start off the explanation of Jack. “Their are crazy people in this world”. “Jack Merridew wasn't one off them before he came to this island”. “How did he act before you guys got here”. “Nobody really knew off him except his friends” said Ralph. At that moment Roger heard Ralph and started to talk about how jack was before the island.
“Jack was one of those people who you wanted to be friends with”. “He always was nice to you, and he would never let anybody mess with you”. “What do you mean, he killed piggy” yelled Ralph.
“Who was piggy” said the captain. “A friend who I took for granite”. Ralph Felt really bad and wanted to tell piggy's aunt about how he and piggy where friends.
“You're acting a little weird Ralph”.
He was staring at something off in the distance.
“Ralphhhhh”
“OMG it's jack”
Half of the boys peed their pants when they heard that name. Epically The littluns. “He is trying to swim over here, stop the boat” said roger. “Don't stop this bloody ship” yelled Ralph. “Shut up Ralph, you're stupid” said roger.
“No you shut up, you barmy savage, you killed piggy” accused Ralph.
“You know what, I hate you and all of your stupid ideas”. Ralph was getting so angry, you'd think he was a mighty savage to. Then roger went overboard and swam toward jack and then they were both swimming for the ship. “Is everything ok back there” said the captain. A voice from the crowd said “Roger jumped overboard so that he could save jack”. “That was stupid, besides we are almost at the boat now” said Ralph. “Here we are, at the boat”. “Where are you guys going to take us” said Maurice. “Well how are roger and jack gonna get back on this ship” Said Ralph. “There not”................
